History

At the Meadows Primary School and Resource Base, we want our children to be inspired and intrigued about the past. We encourage children to think and act like    historians through the teaching of local, national and world history which is relevant to our pupils. To this end, we strive to provide the support for children to question assumptions about the past, including challenging stereotypes about peoples, places and time periods. We also aim to help children to see how the present is affected by the events of the past. All of these elements help to underpin children’s acquisition of key historical knowledge as well as developing the skills required to be historians. We also believe that they help to foster a love of history and a lifelong engagement with, and curiosity of, the past.
