History

At The Meadows Primary School, all our teaching and learning builds on our core values; Aspiration, Equality, Respect, Resilience, Integrity. We want our children to be inspired and intrigued about the past. We encourage children to think and act like historians through the teaching of local, national and world history which is relevant to our pupils. To this end, we strive to provide the support for children to question assumptions about the past, including challenging stereotypes about peoples, places and time periods. We also aim to help children to see how the present is affected by the events of the past. The CUSP history curriculum fosters all of these elements to underpin children’s acquisition of key historical knowledge as well as developing the skills required to be historians 

CUSP fulfils and goes well beyond the expectations of the National Curriculum, as we believe there is no ceiling to what pupils can learn.
